I'm a psychology major & have realized that in my university there are two different types of general biology courses. One is for non-science majors and one is for science majors. Since I am a Psychology major, I signed up with the non-science major course, but have heard the science major course is more rigorous. When we talk about pre-reqs in general, do admissions consider courses like Biology for non science majors to be a valid pre requisite or do they only accept a general biology course intended for science majors? I wouldn't want to be looked at as taking easier sciences because of my major.

Courses for non-science major will not fulfill prereqs at most medical schools. You should be taking the courses that are required for the major in that area (ie Bio for Bio majors, Chem for Chem majors, etc
Neither will they help you very much for the MCAT. I have sat in a couple of the lectures of my university's non-major biology course and it felt shallow and rushed in terms of content.

At my school, the non-science major courses serve as more of an introduction to the topic rather than the in-depth study of the biological mechanisms associated with the subject. I would take the major science courses if you can.
