I was wondering if anyone has had experience with admissions in regards to how stringent they are with prerequisite labs going hand-in hand with the lecture. My school doesn't offer a Micro Lab, and the Physiology Lab is an entirely separate course from the lecture.

Has anyone had a problem with admissions by only being able to take the lecture and not the corresponding lab? I plan to call a few schools eventually so I'll report back my finding's as well.

I doubt any pharm school will let you be admitted without any of the lab components. It isn't something that can easily be "waived" like calc or something. Labs are an essential part of the class, and if they require lab classes, and you haven't taken them ... I dunno, to me, it's like saying, oh I took all the prereqs except for gen chem, is that okay?

Right, except that's not my case. I have taken the Lab components for all of my basic Chem, Bio, and Physics classes. I'm finished with Orgo Lab, and am In the process of taking Biochem Lab for my major.

Problem is, that my class size is so huge that they couldn't offer a lab for Micro, and the lab component for Physiology is an entirely different course I don't plan on taking. My Anatomy class will have a lab component though.

I'm hoping they don't give me **** about it. Guess I'll have to find out first hand.

I haven't heard of anyone getting out of taking a pre-req. I do know people who have had to go to other schools to get their pre-reqs done if their school didn't offer a class. Just one of those hoops you have to jump through to get accepted.

There's a good reason for many of the pharmacy schools mandating lab pre-requisites. The more you take these courses, the easier you're going to get used to the pharmD program that has many lab classes involved.
