Hello,

I am currently in the process of completing my pre reqs and I am curious about those of you who are also in the process of completing your pre reqs.

Please post your thoughts on the courses that you have taken thus far.

Example: Intermediate Algebra, Tough, Easy, Retake, etc...

Thank you

Intro Biology: Lots of information.
Intro Chemistry: Easy (due to AP credit)
Calculus: not too difficult
Public Speaking: hated it! but got the A 😀
Liberal Arts: pretty easy
Economics: I would suggest taking macro since it applies a little more the pharmacy field. Micro deals more with the economics within a particular business. (I think lots of schools like macro better than micro).

Gen Chem I and II-Easy, just do the hwk problems
Gen Bio I and II-Tons to memorize but very do-able in making an A
Microbio-TONS MORE to memorize, more than Gen Bio I and II combined!
Calculus-Requires a lot of time due to hwk problems, do all the assigned hwk problems and you should make an A
Physics I and II- I had a VERY VERY easy teacher so don't ask me about this.
Labs in all of the classes above-I think labs are pointless, it's pretty much a follow the directions type of thing. Bio labs require memorization so that's the only hard thing about that. For example, trying to remember all the fungi, algae, protozoa, gram pos. and neg, slides, good grief!

I'm not trying to brag at all, but I recieved A's in all of the courses above, but at the same time I think it's very do-able to make all A's. I'm not saying that you should make all A's, b/c every student is in a different situation, (bad profs, family, work, etc), but from my personal pre-req history so far, receiving an A has been nothing but memorization and tons of coffee. I'm sure my streak of getting A's will stop once I take Organic, oh man, I'm dreading it already.

im in the middle of taking mine and have a 4.0 so far! im applying early (for next fall) ...
bio--memorizing a lot but really enjoyed it
chem--loved it. lots of calculations but fun
calc--not so fun
liberal arts--got through them some where fun (psych and socio)

ButlerD and anyone else that got offended,
I really didn't mean it to be deameaning and if it came off that way I sincerely apologize. I just thought he/she was asking what our thoughts were on the pre-req classes we have taken so far. By no means am I trying to say that it's easy or you should get an A, but the comments I put after each class was what I personally went through and had to do in order to get my A's. I know I said I wasn't trying to brag, and I'm really not, I was just being honest b/c I'd rather hear the truth from someone than them beating around the bush. I mean, obviously people are going to want to know what I got in each class, even though they dont ask for it, but they THINK IT (hmm, I wonder what he got, or what his gpa is). That's why I decided to write what grade I got in each class, not to brag, but just to be honest and helpful as I can. Once again, I didn't mean to come across demeaning or harsh, and if I did, then again, I apologize.

Oh my god, don't even worry about organic. I am almost finished my first organic, and I am getting an A+ and it is 10 times easier than gen chem 2 and I am good at math so it's not that, i am also taking gen chem right now (we do it kind of backwards here)....I am getting 10% better in organic then in gen chem 2.....so don't worry...you'll do fine!! I think all this talk about organic bein super hard is a gimmick!

It did not seem like bragging to me.

What exactly is the point/do you want to know from this thread? I mean, every school's program will vary depending on what they want and even depending on the professor/TA that you get for that semester. Even time (year) that you took it can be very different. For instance, I recently graduated but I took gen chem 2 yrs ago. Nowadays in my college, gen chem involves alot of introductory orgo and even biochem, things I didn't have to deal with when I took gen chem.

I'd have to agree because it's not as though you all attend the same institution

Who took the time to share some of your pre req experiences as well as providing general insight into this phase of our development.

is macroeconomics a difficult class?especially when combining it with org II and calculus
