Is it better to get 2 Cs in biology and organic chemistry than take the classes separately and get Bs or As but it will take a year longer to get to pharmacy school? The reason is I am contemplating on just taking Organic Chemistry and Calculus instead of Organic Chemistry and this hard Bio class offered at my school. Need some advice.

You honestly don't want Cs especially in courses that pharmacy schools heavily look at (chemistry especially). If you don't need that biology class to get into the pharmacy schools you are thinking of applying to, then don't even bother. Just take organic and calculus, do well, and jump on those applications. Good luck!

Here's something I learned through lots of college experience: if you plan to get a C in a course, you will. If you plan for an A, the least you'll get is a B. This requires planning and studying and giving up extra commitments on your time, but if you really want the A, you can get it. By telling yourself that taking a difficult bio course and organic in the same semester, you'll receive Cs in both, you're setting yourself up with a self-fulfilling prophecy.

It's just hard work. Don't be afraid of hard work; it's something you'll be doing for the rest of your life.

👍

Also pharmacy school is going to be tougher than just Organic and a hard bio class. If you think your going to get C's, when your just taking 2 classes, I fear for you when pharmacy school begins.

Absolutely love this. 👍 👍 👍 👍 so true. You are wise.

It's not that I plan on getting Cs on those classes. I've heard from a classmate of mine that's what happened to her and I don't want to set myself up for failure. I think just taking organic chemistry and calculus is hard enough for now. I'll take the long route to pharmacy school. Perhaps it's going to take 2 1/2 years to get into a school, but I rather do well in my courses. Believe me, I am capable of hardwork, I am not taking the easy way out, just thinking logistics-wise of how to accomplish this goal of taking all my prereqs.

I agree with this mentality. Don't try to rush it - Do it right. 👍
