Do pre-req courses have to be completed by the time you apply to medical schools or can they be completed by the time you enroll to med schools?

By the time you enroll..but..in most cases it behooves the applicant to satisfy most pre-reqs before hand, especially the competitive ones... for admissions purposes.

Say I've completed all the required pre-req courses except for my last quarter of physics (availability issues), will this hurt my chances of getting into an MD school?
