Pre-screen review

What is a pre-screen review? This one school says they do pre-screen review. I have limited knowledge of pre-screen review. Can anyone explain what it mean?

I can't speak for all schools but I know OHSU sorts them into 3 groups. Group 1 are applicants with at least a 3.2 GPA, at least a 15 in every section, and all the letters and all required classes. Group 2 is between 3.2 and 2.5 GPA with all of the above. Group 3 is below 2.5 GPA. I'm not sure if there is another group for people who don't have all of the required stuff or minimum values. After the academic update they said some people move from group 1 to 2 and some move up from 2 to 1.

They look at your DAT and GPA real quickly before anything else and screen out those who do not meet their requirements.
