I have a quick question. I have gotten hands on a CD that has MKSAP, Pretest Medicine, Surgery, OB/GYN, Neurology, Physical Dx, Biostats, Clinical Dx, and radiology. I was planning on using it to study for step 2ck in addition to Kaplan QBook and NMS USMLE step2ck. I had purchased USMLEworld during my third year rotations and finished the questions, so I want to try something else. Are the PreTest books harder or easier that the real Step 2CK? Should I just set it aside and focus on just Qbook and NMS?

Thanks!

I was wondering about this too. Does anybody out there use Pretest for Step2CK? What's the correlation with the real test? Thanks

IMHO, Pretest books are okay for some (but not all) of the shelf exams, but pretty lousy for the step exam. Not that they are harder or easier, just that they are very poorly targeted to whats worth knowing, and certainly don't ask in a way that is comparable. Spend the time doing qbook and world questions. These are better targeted for the step.
And FWIW, you shouldn't admit on a public board that you have "gotten your hands" on a CD full of copyrighted material. It's a crime to copy this stuff.
