since Pippy has kindly reminded me this thread exists...
I'll share the avatars I've been making for everyone. Decided to pride-ify a group of avatars and it's been fun. 🙂 There are more but I can only attach so many in one post lol
*In case it needs to be said, flag choices are not indicative of the user's actual identity, and most/many were randomized choice on my part just to support the LGBT community 🙂

Yesssssssssss I love spoonflower. It’s where I got a lot of my mask fabrics including the two different opossum ones I made for @SportPonies and II taught myself how to hand sew using YouTube and now I'm browsing on Spoonflower for the first time since acquiring this new power and HELP
Which one do you like best for things like masks and scrub caps? There's the cotton poplin and then the signature cotton. Which one is nicer?Yesssssssssss I love spoonflower. It’s where I got a lot of my mask fabrics including the two different opossum ones I made for @SportPonies and I
Today's project and helper.
I’ve only gotten the signature cotton and it seems fine?😂 made both caps and masks out of it. Definitely need to preshrink if you get the signature cotton thoughWhich one do you like best for things like masks and scrub caps? There's the cotton poplin and then the signature cotton. Which one is nicer?
I’d say it’s pretty equivalent to like regular quilting fabric on the bolts at Joann’s.
they do sell tester swatches of whatever fabric so you could buy one of each and see which you preferred? I think they’re like $5 which s u c k s tho.
also I was able to get one mask and ponytail cap set (of the patterns I used at least) out of a fat quarter, with some finagling. Some patterns have bigger images than others (like one of my opossums) so that one would have been much more of a struggle, but I had gotten a whole yard for that since I was making two of each.
What is spoonflower??I taught myself how to hand sew using YouTube and now I'm browsing on Spoonflower for the first time since acquiring this new power and HELP

Every time I finish a project and go to select a new one from my hoard STASH, I'm reminded of just how overboard I went with buying projects when I was stuck at home... 😬
I’m moving soon and the amount of hobby supplies I have is astounding. Like, I don’t know how I had it all in the area it was in in my current apartment. And packing has also really highlighted how much extra leather I have laying around…I need to stop buying it just because it’s on sale/a good deal and start actually using more of it. But my new house has an entire room to dedicate to my leathercraft hobby so now I can really go crazy haha.Every time I finish a project and go to select a new one from myhoardSTASH, I'm reminded of just how overboard I went with buying projects when I was stuck at home... 😬

Been holding off on posting this because I sent it to an SDNer and didn’t want to spoil it, but it’s been at its destination for a while now and I don’t think she looks at this thread anyway, so here’s my latest!
Hopefully the frame got through shipping okay, shipping glass made me nervous and the UPS store assured me they’d pack it well and with lots of bubble wrap, but…

I read smutty romance novels, write, take Chinese lessons, and I'm trying to learn to sew. I've been stalled out on a baby blanket for a year now and at this rate the kid will be in elementary school before I'm done

I currently have 2 cross stitches in progress, I just finished a crochet project that I'll post in here eventually and will start another one soon, and a diamond art that I haven't touched in months because I've been too busy with the fabric crafts.

I'm looking at my album of completed projects on my phone and realizing how many things I've made for SDN people lol
I still do occasional leathercrafting. Belts, bags, dog collars, etc.
My current creative outlet is designing a custom house, bahaha. So many decisions to make. So many hours browsing the internet for ideas.
My other less creative hobbies are mostly dog sports, but I also like to bake. I like tor was but have been in a book slump for months. I can crochet and have very rudimentary sewing skills but haven’t make anything like that in years now.

That's very kind, but really what I do is just pick crafts where all I need to be able to do is countYou're so talented!

I was teaching my friend how to knit and I was like "are you confident you can count? Are you ready to find out the answer to that question is actually no?"
My current project, fingerless mitts. The spouse had some they adored and I've been wanting to try some. I also have a sweater, a blanket, and a singular sock cast on but non of them spark joy right now

Oh I'm excited this thread got revived!
Most of my hobbies are more active/outdoors, but my partner got me into quilting a couple years ago, and here are a couple things I've made (without her having to take over or coach over my shoulder 🤣)!
I made this one as a Christmas gift (Not for the cat, contrary to her belief)
And this one I'm making for myself as a got-into-vet-school gift; it's a pretty simple t- shirt quilt, but made from shirts I've collected from the schools I've attended over the past decade (and a couple I bought for tOSU since i haven't started yet lol). the pattern is simple but the scale is challenging my will to live 😅

Wow I did not realize how extremely old this thread was
got some pre-vet Dubz in the early pages.
I'm still a fiction writer but mostly express that through WW these days, I haven't touched my novel or short stories in years...maybe one day.
My most consistent creative pursuit currently is crochet though I have dabbled in knitting, embroidery, cross stitch, diamond art, and paint by numbers. Don't ask me how many active projects I have.
Here are a couple most recent completed ones and a work in progress:

Reviewing this thread, I would like to update you all and let you know that seven years and three interstate moves later, said amigurumi cow’s head, body, and one leg are still sitting unfinished in my craft supply cabinet. That's cute! I've been working on an amigurumi cow amd a blanket for my vet school bestie for months now and both projects have stalled. I have been lacking motivation.
Also, my leatherwork has definitely improved over the past five years.

It was completed and gifted…there’s a later post from my mid thread with that blanket. Her second kid she has since had didn’t ever get a blanket though. They still actually use the blanket. What happened with the blanket?
Here’s pics of a few things I HAVE actually completed as gifts. The halter was donated to a therapeutic riding center as a fundraiser and sold for $100!

@Truenamer does a lot of leatherwork too.
Thanks. My nephew who is seven asked me to make him a leather jacket last week. I told him that was pretty hard and would be expensive, and he told me I already had leather (not the right kind) and zippers (a 7” zipper for a makeup bag), and he knew I could. While I’m flattered, I told him we may have to wait until he’s more of his grown up size before we did that. Because no way in heck am I making a jacket for a seven year old who will outgrow it in one season.Wow, these are stunning.

The confidence of children between the ages of 3 and 10 is astounding
He also told me that I’ve made shoes and belts and those are clothes, and a jacket is just clothes too. So it should be easy. I see his logic, but it’s still a no, haha. The confidence of children between the ages of 3 and 10 is astounding

Husband and I will discuss if Toddler Bats used toddler logic when he says something and whether or not the toddler logic is sound. Tracking the logic is honestly pretty fun; then we get to explain why the toddler logic is sound but actually is inaccurate 🤣

Two more things completed: a very hungry caterpillar cocoon and hat for my new lil nephew, and moth embroidery for my sister (of course forgot to take a pic after I straightened and sewed up the fabric)
