Hello everyone,
I am about to start pre-writing my personal statement for the 2019/2020 cycle. However, I have a question about whether or not I should include my recent history as a pre-pharmacy student.
For context, I was originally a pre-med student, but got discouraged about whether or not I had the ability to get into medical school. Because of that, I switched to pre-pharmacy. I had applied and gotten into several pharmacy schools, even put down a deposit and started to fill out matriculation paper work to attend a school for 2018. However, I realized that pharmacy is not what I want to do (for many reasons) and told the school I'm not going. I have since been really passionate and motivated about going to medical school and have participated in some activities that I feel like have solidified that passion.
I personally feel like this whole process/revelation I had is pertinent to my journey to apply to med school. But I want to know if this is something I should discuss in my personal statement? Or would changing my mind at the eleventh hour come across as flaky? Or would to make me stand out a little more? I don't know, you tell me!
Thanks everyone!
