Hey, I'm wondering if any of you think that dental adcoms have the possibility of looking you up on predents.com, for instance, to see what schools you apply to/get in to or whatever?

now that the search feature is there, it would be really easy for anyone with your application to find out a little extra info.

are there any opinions on this?

Where in your application is your Predents.com username?

I don't think they would because #1) they prob don't even know about Predents.com and #2) are way too busy to do such a thing and #3) ..see above.

If they know what your DAT scores are, they can do a search for members with the DAT score... Then you can verify it's the right person by crosschecking with something else like Hours Shadowed. Then if the username in predents matches a username on SDN forums, they can search for all your posts and find out that on June1st you posted "How much bling should I buy in my first year as a dentist?" and on June 2nd you posted "How do Dschools know you actually shadowed xx hours?" Then we all know what happens next - You hear a knock on the door and police arrest you and probably die of gang rape in the showers.

Anything is possible if you've managed to leak out enough information about yourself. If your email address that you provided to dental schools is the same as your user name here on SDN, it'd be easy to put two and two together. It has happened here on SDN before where schools have found out that their students have voiced negative opinions, which is why user discretion is advised when divulging information here.
