Hello all, I have finished filling out every portion of my AMCAS!

All that is left for me to do is select which schools to apply to. I was hoping for your guys' feedback!

Here are my statistics very quickly:
School: Top Cali public school
Major: Neuroscience
cGPA: 3.6/3.65
sGPA: 3.4
MCAT: 34 (P12,V10,B12)
Ethnicity: Asian
Residence: Colorado

~3 years of lab experience
Multiple leadership positions in student run organizations
300 hours volunteering in hospital
Minimal (but existent) shadowing experience

Here are schools I have listed so far:
(I know some of them are a reach)

1) Albany Medical College
2) Central Michigan University College of Medicine
3) David Geffen UCLA
4) Drexel
5) Emory
6) Georgetown
7) New York Medical College
8) UCSD
9) UCSF
10) UC Davis
11) UCR
12) University of Colorado (In state)
13) University of Hawaii
14) University of North Carolina
15) Virginia Tech

I'm looking to apply to around 30 schools, maybe 35.
As you can see, I selected a lot of Cali schools even though I'm not a resident. Should I even bother? I've gotten pretty used to the West Coast.
I also didn't know whether to apply to mostly private schools. It seems that lots of public schools don't really have good odds for out-of-staters.
My main goal is simply getting in, but it would be nice to go to medical school in a big city. I'm also more Primary Care oriented, but I do enjoy research. I'm pretty open to where I go, so I'd like to apply broadly.

Thank you!!

I count 6 schools where your chance of an interview is fair to good.
If you want to apply to your alma mater for grins it's understandable but unless it's UCR, chances are remote.
There are several that could be removed without reducing your odds.
To begin, delete Burns unless you are native Hawaiian.

I suggest:

1) Albany Medical College
4) Drexel
5) Emory
6) Georgetown
7) New York Medical College
12) University of Colorado (In state)
15) Virginia Tech
Jefferson
Temple
U AZ (maybe)
U VM
VCU
EVMS
Creighton
Rush
Loyola
Tulane
U Miami
Hofstra
U Rochester
BU
Tufts
MCW
SLU
Wake Forest
GWU
TCMC
Netter
Any DO school.

Nope, unless Western, Loma Linda and Touro-CA are on the list. Your sGPA is not competitive to the notoriously competitive CA schools. Instead of making donations to reaches, take your dad out to dinner for Father's Day.

That's why having a good and realistic list is so important.
