Hi everyone,

I know there was a thread about UG GPA back in 2013, but I know things have changed since then in regards to the AAPI guidelines, etc. For those who matched - are many of the sites you applied to requesting UG transcripts? I know sites can only request UG transcripts AFTER you match, but are many sites doing that? I know grades are not heavily looked upon, but I just wanted to know.

I didn't have any sites ask for undergraduate transcripts. However, do know that if you attended the same institution for both UG and grad, both transcripts will be sent. My school couldn't separate them and that seems to be the case for many schools.

They actually specify on the AAPI that you should only send graduate transcripts. However, as Boomshakala mentioned, if you did undergrad and grad school at the same place the transcripts with both sets of grades will be sent. I doubt that any program would request your undergrad transcript after you match, I have never heard of that.

Agree that it is highly unlikely a site would ask for undergrad transcripts after you match. But let's say they did, and didn't like something they saw. What could they possibly do? The match is binding.

The match is binding. I wouldn't worry about it. Your UG transcripts are not required for applying, save that where you went to school it is listed on your CV. I think where someone did their undergrad could influence interview opportunities and offers. But once you matched, it is binding, unless you lied about something serious that comes up in background check - criminal record.

The only reason I could imagine them asking for the transcripts is if the actual institution where the internship is housed (i.e., hospital, clinic, etc.), not the program itself, requires this information for all of their employes based on administrative procedures. I recently went through the credentialing process at a hospital. I thought they would just want my my license and graduate transcripts, but they wanted EVERTHING I had, plus stuff I had never heard of from places I trained. Every institution has its rules.

You don't have to for internship, but this year the online post-doc application system wanted them for some reason. It was very annoying and perplexing because none of the sites seemed to want them.
