I am planning on doing a prelim surgical year before going onto my advanced specialty and trying to decide between Stanford, UWash, and BID. Wondering if any categorical surgery residents or anybody have any experience with these places. I'm more or less looking for information about the malignancy of any of those places, camaraderie among residents, educational value, and more or less living in those towns.
I know I will have to work hard so please refrain from comments about "being crazy to do a surgical prelim year."
