I'm curious to find out what you guys are planning doing for internship.
Who is more about prelim medicine versus transitional year?
Is it only about competitiveness (versus those pesky derm/optho/rads people) or quality of strong medical education?
Is there anybody interested in prelim surg/peds or OB?
I'm currently undecided between prelim medicine and transitional. I understand the latter is more competitive, but whenever I talk to serious Anesthesia residents they emphasize the importance of serious medical intern education. Apparently transitional is like another 4th year. They say the increased responsibility and intensity of education makes for a better MDAs.
That's enough out of me for now. Thoughts?
