Hi, when applying for a residency, do you actually specify prelim or categorical, or do you just apply to the program, and they select you into one category?

Thanks,
Pol

You select Preliminary or Categorical by the number that you select. when you hit the "Search for Programs" Button on ERAS and look for programs, both the prelim and categorical numbers will come up at each location. The categorical residency will have one number and the preliminary will have another number. I hope that this helps.
