TMDSAS has officially sent out their preliminary statistics for 2004 if anyone wants to check them out.

man, i thought you needed a 3.5 and 20's just to have a chance, it looks as though those stats will almost promise you a spot, with shadowing, interview, and a decent ps of course.

Combinator, where did you find those stats? I went to the TMDSAS website and I couldn't find it, all I could find was 2004 stats. Thanks

AHHH, thanks, I'm so used to going to the left side of the site, which for some reason they haven't changed. If you're new to the app process you'll know what I'm talking about later. I checked that damn thing every day for months.🙂

Why is there an 2x increase in the number of acceptances in just one year? The stats have remain the same or lowered.

What are you talking about? It says the number of students accepted in 2003 was 220 while the preliminary stats for acceptance this year was 203???

If you look at the GPA requirement for med an dental they are basically the same. WTF. I think there has been a flood of PREmEDONNAS trying and taking away spots from real pre dents. I swear if I see one more of my premedonna friends asking me about dental school, I gonna go crazy.

IF this is the case of GPA and DAT scores going up and becoming just as competive as med school, shouldn't dentist get the same respect. I still get the flabbergasted look everytime some looks at me when I say I want to be a dentist. Then I get you should really try and get into the oral maxillary facial program and become a real doctor.
