I seem to recall in an earlier thread that this answer varied between some people rewriting their personal statements to people who modified a few paragraphs to people who basically used the same personal statement.

but adding a sentence or 2 indicating why prelim med isn't a bad idea in case they acutally read it

I only changed the last paragraph, from 'Why PM&R', to 'Why this internship will help me in PM&R'.
