Premedical Course Work Question

Hey everyone
I had a prereq question. I have been accepted to PCOM and it needs 2 organic courses. The school indicates I am 3 semester hours deficient ( I have completed orgo 1 with lab and 2 biochem courses (no lab)). Can I do a theory only orgo 2 course or is one with a lab required?

I would sign up for organic chem 2 then. 3 semester hours seems like they have given credit to a biochem lab or something. Anyways, I would totally call them and ask if they substitute biochem for organic 2 or if they require organic 2.

Serenade is likely correct. However, for questions like this I would always recommend confirming with the school. It would suck to not be able to start because you are deficient in coursework.

I would totally call them and ask if they substitute biochem for organic 2 or if they require organic 2.

I emailed PCOM a couple weeks ago and asked if they would substitute biochem for org2 - they said NO.

OP - I would call and ask them about the lab. It seems strange that they said you are only 3 credits short and you didn't even take a biochem lab. Are you going to be able to fit Org2 in this summer yet? It must be stressful trying to fit a prereq in at the last minute like this.
