Prep Material and the DAT

So here's my question:

How effective are the study materials for the DAT? (Kaplan, Barron, DAT Destroyer, Prep Courses)

Is the material that you need to know pretty much all in the guides or does the study material just give a very broad and general idea of the problems tested on the DAT?
