Does anyone know if glbt individuals are eligible for any of the NIH PREP programs?

Maybe you should define what GLBT means, b/c as a social science major GLBT means something very diffrent than what you may be getting at.

To clarify, I am wondering if these programs extend to social minorities, i.e. those with aberrant sexual orientation. All the programs define minorities as those in an ethnic group or any other underrepresented faction of society.

Aberrant:
1. departing from the right, normal, or usual course.
2. deviating from the ordinary, usual, or normal type; exceptional; abnormal.

Rather derogatory, don't you think? Leads one to question whether you're the GLBT trying to get into the program...

If you're looking to out somebody who is in NIH PREP or otherwise GLBT-bash, get a life.

If you're the GLBT trying to get into NIH PREP, just call them and ask for their definition of minority.

Best of luck to you.

Sorry, I did not mean aberrant in a derogatory way--I was just trying to find a tactful way to say I'm gay. I have a lot of involvement in my school’s glbtqaia... groups, and I am interested in health disparities, i.e. what the PREP program aims to cultivate in students. I intend to ask programs directly, I was just wondering if anyone had any information or experience.

There's a DO student active on these boards who is a leader in the GLBT community at Touro-CA. Might be worth searching SDN for him. And try tugsa.net.
