I am preparing for an upcoming interview at a school that waitlisted me in last year's cycle. I thought my first interview experience at this school went very well and I remember being tense but relaxed by the casual nature of the interviewer. This time around I want to prepare myself to make my interview as polished, but definitely as genuine as possible. I have read about previous interview experiences off the SDN site to get a feel for the questions I'll face. I'm not terribly worried about maintaining a confident appearance, what to wear, etc. because I've been on several interviews over the past couple of years, so I guess my main question is what other sources has anyone used to help them prepare that they thought was really beneficial? Any 2 cents would be appreciated!

A friend of mine who is applying to medical school had a surgeon at Yale, who is a family friend and often interviews students, give him a mock interview. The doc asked him questions he would ask any candidate but the difference is, after the interview, the doc gave him feedback. Told my friend that he definitely needed to bring this up during the interview and elaborate more on that during an interview. So, my advice is to find someone who has a lot of interviewing experience who will provide honest feedback.

BTW, post-mock interview with the Yale doc, my friend interviewed at a top school and they called him on the telephone hours after the interview to let him know he was accepted. That's cool. 👍
