Hello I am starting pharmacy school this fall. I have some time until then and was wondering if there's things that i could study now and save myself some trouble later. Thanks

Do not study anything now. You will have plenty of time for that when in school. Enjoy your summer.

u should find a student who took the first year at the school you're going to and study their notes now. Pharmacy school has alot of classes so the earlier u start the better u are, dont go wasting time. I mean even if its 30 mins a day thats better than nothing. dont let others tell u not to start now, if i were u and most likely i will be in the same spot in a few weeks then i would start with biochem NOW. learn to be a step ahead of others. gluck

yeah i see myself at a disadvantage since i've been out of school a few years and haven't taken biochem/molecular biology/etc... since.... 4 years ago? I think I should brush up on my cycles and terminology.

But I'm wondering what other topics to lightly review...organic chem? or is biochem the main one I should look at?

I'm going to say it again. Enjoy your summer. You don't know what your teachers will expect you to know/learn. There is no sense in learning to get ahead if you aren't learning what they will expect.

I agree with this. You must learn to enjoy your breaks between semesters in pharmacy school, because during the semester you will be studying pharmacy all the time. I was out of school for two years before I went back and didn't study anything before the first semester, and I did just fine.

enjoy your summer.

If you want to study something I guess study drug cards if you are not familiar with the top 200. May not help a lot with school, but if you take an internship it will be beneficial.

but enjoy your summer. You will have plenty of studying to do later.

i agree with everyone else about enjoying your summer...

yeah...you need to enjoy the breaks to keep your sanity
but i think having retail work experience helps a lot

it helps with visualizing the drug & it's generic and the strength
it comes in (it helps me remember dosages in therapeutics)

just focus on your store's fast mover

Drink a LOT 😀

But seriously, don't study biochem or whatever these jokers are telling you to do, your class will likely be slightly different than the class before you. Brush up on the top 300 like J DUB said and that should be more than enough.

I wouldn't study for anything. Instead, I'd recommend that you get a job in a pharmacy if you don't already have one.
