Hi All,

I'm at that phase now, and ready to complete my OAT. Wanted to hear from those that have taken the OAT, would you recommend Kaplan, if so, which one, private tutoring, online classroom or physical location OR would you recommend me to just get the OATDestroyer book and do it on my own?

I've heard bad stories about Kaplan and that it would be a waste of time/money.

What are your intake people?

I would try to get a hold of the big Kaplan book without taking the class(because it is so expensive) and use it along with the OAT destroyer. The Kaplan book has a great summary of the information you need to know for the test and is a great review, but the destroyer is great for giving you a feel for the questions.

When I took the OAT, I got the the big Kaplan book from a friend who was taking the DAT and was willing to for over the $1000 for the class. The only problem was that it did not have physics.

I took the Kaplan class because I as having trouble motivating myself to study on my own. I got a discount through a scholarship program and then also got a rebate through a special promotion Kaplan was running at the time. I would say Kaplan made it easy to study because it FORCED me to review the material at least 3 hours per week and the resources available were great. Even if you can't take the classroom one, the OAT OnDemand, where you just have access to the online stuff, is worth it because their practice exams are set up exactly the way you will see it on the test. Also, the workshops and quizzes and section tests help to focus your studying on areas that you really need improvement while getting practice with actual questions. It is a ton of money, but think about how you study and how motivated you will be to do it all on your own. The good thing about Kaplan is that they have so many ways to learn the material (flashcards, quick study sheets, the big book, online material) that it's easy to study with some variety.

Has anyone ever heard of or used Rapid Learning Center to study for the OAT?

How does this compare to Kaplan OAT, OAT Destroyer or TopScore Pro OAT?

Thanks!
