Do we have to finish all of our prereq courses before applying to pharmschool or can we finish after we get accepted. Do the policies differ depending on the school? I'm planning to apply to UOP, UCSF, UCSD, and USN this summer. but I will not be done with the prereq until after the apps because I still need to do some upper div like Microbio and Physio. I heard the schools subtract points from apps for prereqs that aren't complete, is that true? Thanks.

No, you do not have to have all the pre-reqs completed before submitting your application. I have not heard about adcoms subtracting points from applicants that have yet to take some courses.

Schools seem to not care, but they really should... Someone can hold off on the hardest prerequisites to keep their GPA up, which isn't fair.

Also, once accepted, people may develop a "I just need a C" attitude, which is bad.

Or they end up failing a class and being rejected, thus wasting all the time and effort the college of pharmacy put in to the persons admissions.

edit: I'm pretty sure Colorado states right on their website that they show preference for students with completed pre-reqs.
