Hi everyone I am new to this forum so I hope I am not re-posting something. I am going to apply to PT school this July (starting PT school in 2014 :xf:) and had a question about my biology prereq. According to most schools you need to have taken a quarter or possibly up to three quarters worth of general biology. I have not taken any general biology and I have already graduated with a major in clinical physiology. I am looking to take this requirement at a local CC; what would you guys suggest I take? The cell, animal, and plant three quarter class or maybe something else? I have already started to contact schools about their prereqs but most of them give me vague answers. Thank you for any help you can provide!!

I would say go with what you think you would do well in and what you would enjoy, especially since you already have your degree in clinical physiology. Most schools should have a small list of the biology courses which either meet or do not meet their prereq requirements on their websites, if not than just go with the basic/ general class. Try and find as much as you can on their prospective student DPT websites first. Hope this helped a bit!
Good Luck, SeaPT!

Thank you for the reply! I think I will stick with the three quarter series which includes cell, animal, and plant. Might not be the most exciting classes (since many of my classes have covered these topics already) but they meet all schools requirements from what I can tell. Thanks again!

You could also consider taking Micro or an upper division course which looks really good. maybe skip plant, not that relevant to PT
