do dental schools expect us to take more than a quarter/semester of chem and ochem lab?

at my school, some labs are only offered for chem majors.

you'll need to take a year of gen chem and a year of orgo, both with their lab components. i assume most schools offer a lab componet with their gen chem lectures. my school lumped all orgo lab into one semester, but it was 9 hrs/week instead of 4/week for the gen chem labs for each semester. so in other words, you need to take the equivalent of two semesters of gen chem, orgo, gen chem lab, and orgo lab. i'd check with your career services people to see how people handled getting this requirement done at your school if you can't get into the labs.
