So what happen if you don't list a required planned course... is the school going to automatically reject you or simply just tell you to take it?

Also, I'm still a little bit confused about the English Requirements..does it necessarily have to be english or would a writing intensive course suffice?

Thanks for your help!

I'm under the impression that English and Literature courses fulfill the English req. I'm pretty sure that writing intensive courses do not.

You will need to take a course in the English department to satisfy the English requirements which I believe is 1 year. Any others from different departments will not work. It's like saying will biochemistry satisfy the chemistry requirements (which does not). It is best that you plan on taking a future course on English in the Fall to satisfy the requirements. Also you cannot take it at a community college since most schools want you to take it at a state or university for the required courses.

uh-oh.. I never thought writing intensive wouldn't count..

I have 8 quarter credits of AP English, a lit class from community college and writing intensive course from university. Does this mean I need more English credit?!

hey jen, just wanted to let you know. writing intensive courses do count for al the schools i called (except NYU, but they said they will see and will not automatically reject you. they will just tell u to take it if u get in) as long as it has the WRITING INTENSIVE in the transcript, which in the case for us bruins, it does.

*Phew* Thanks for looking out my fellow bruin. Good luck with everything! *Throws up an 8-CLAP*
