If you've taken biochem already, did you need ochem knowledge for it?

My school lists ochem I as a prereq. I'd like to take it this summer before I complete ochem. But I don't want to risk if it ochem is actually necessary for the class.

For mine, yes definitely. You nee to be able to do fischer projections of the amino acids and understand some mechanisms. It's not something I would think as impossible to learn on your own, but I did see some people who did not have strong ochem backgrounds struggle. (I took Ochem 2 while in Biochem so many of my classmates were in similar situations)

I found that you didn't need to know any ochem to understand biochem. Things like Fischer projections are covered in both classes, but they are easy to understand without having had prior knowledge of them.
