In general, is it okay to plan to take a prerequisite course such as ochem the summer immediately before enrolment to a dental program? (and to indicate this on the application) Or is this too late. Thanks.
For most dental schools, you just have to take the pre-req prior to matriculation. Although you probably don't want to save all the pre-reqs until the end because ochem might help you for your DATs!
I would also bounce dates of the completion of the course vs when schools mandate all coursework to be done. Many schools have an orientation program starting VERY early in August and require you to be prereq complete before then. Many summer courses go well into first/second week of August, so you may be hamstrung by the dates. Just make sure to check all dates to CYA.
