hey guys....i was jsut blindsided by this...really lookin for some input 🙂I was just informed by my residency program wants us to take a preresidency test. has anyone ever taken one of these? and if we do awful, will it reflect poorly on us? lastly, what kind of questions were on it and is there anything that I could be studying?

Your program probably wants to see where you all are starting from and tailor your educational lectures to your needs. Don't worry about this and do your best. If your program thought you weren't up to residency, you would not have matched in the first place. I wouldn't bother to study for something like this.

Worst case scenario: you get the lowest grade. 😱 You can always ace ABSITE in January and show how far you have come. Don't worry about this one. 🙂

Agree with njbmd.

My program always starts the intern year off with an old practice ABSITE exam. I don't think the score means much of anything to anyone. It's just an opportunity for them to see where everyone is starting off from and how much everyone improves.

Just use it as an opportunity to practice for the real ABSITE in January.
