So I was reading a pharmacy book and it stated in California they made a law stating pharmacist can only do 15 prescription drugs per hour? For those of you who are familiar with the work setting at your local pharmacy store any idea how long it usually takes on average to fill out 1 prescription? I guess 5 minutes? I thought that was pretty wild though.

oh really? And what book might this be? My (retail) pharmacist did more than 15 Rx drugs/hr... 😱 I should inform her that she should delay filling some until later (makes impatient patients unhappy 🙂 ) and relax a bit.

This really cannot be true - I just crunched some numbers and the pharmacists I work with average far, far more than just 15/hour! I do know CPhA has certain guidelines for pharmacists to promote an error-free environment - they recommend an avg. of 15 scripts/hour/pharmacist..
