I am getting ready for interviews and I have heard that a common question is; What do you think are the top 3 concerns that face the dental field? I figured I would pose the question to you all-knowing dentists who are already in the field.
1. Auxillaries doing irreversible dentistry (hygienist doing a filling)
2. The "caries vaccine"
3. Access to care - getting new dental grads to follow the need and not the money
and why is this a problem? sure, it would reduce caries, and therefore eliminated 75% of the bread and butter of dentists. ok, that might stink in the short-term as far as work/profitability, but should we discourage its implementation because of this? that would be silly
