Superficial? Perhaps. Isn't it interesting to know though! For those of you who have visited campuses of Osteopathic schools, which are the prettiest? The immediate surrounding area may also be included.

Of the ones I have seen, I will rank them in order of attractiveness:

1. AZCOM (by FAR the most attractive campus)
2. OSU-COM
3. TCOM
4. KCOM (I'd put this farther down on the list, if possible)

One the ones I have seen:

1) DMU (of course)
2) VCOM (if you count V-TECH)
3) PCOM (only because of Philly)
4) WVSOM (getting better)
5) LECOM (not much of a campus...)

Out of the five schools that I have been to I would rate them as follows.

1. DMU (by far both campus and surrounding city)
2. AZCOM (very nice campus and surrounding city)
3. KCOM (nice campus, but small town which can be good or bad)
4. KCUMB (nice campus, but surround area is not very nice.)
5. Western U (the area is ok, close to LA and not a good part of town)

With that being said I would really recommend going to each school you are considering and spending at least a day there to see if the school and surrounding city is a good match for you. It is all very dependent on what you as an individual like...beauty is in the eye of the beholder...thing 🙂 Since what I value and think is important may be different that what you value and think is important. DMU was just right for me, but others may not like Iowa or consider 500K people too small of a city...just depends on what you like.

Outside... UNECOM hands down. It's right on the ocean. Awesome!

Inside... DMU! It's in a nice neighborhood as well.

UNTHSC sits in a nice historic area. The campus is just a bunch of buildings with a closed down hospital next to it. Not necessarily pretty but quite functional and effective. I wouldn't say OSU is a pretty campus but the Tulsa and the surrounding areas are gorgeous (opinion of course), just take a ride up to Nowatta or Ramona. LECOM - Bradenton is in a nice setting, west Florida rocks, but it is just a building that students throw money at. PCOM sits on the edge of Philly. The grounds are inviting and the school has a nice parking garage but don't stray too far off at night. Out of the schools I have seen OSU was my favorite.

Well I've only seen NYCOM, PCOM, and NSUCOM and NSUCOM is gorgeous - the entire davie/fort lauderdale, florida area around it and also the Miami Dolphins train nearby the osteopathic school. Everything is pretty tropical, new and modern and you see people/students outside in a rainbow of scrubs - purple, green, blue, pink walking all around the professional buildings (dental, medical, optometry, nursing etc.) You must visit.

OUCOM...Athens is gorgeous.

I'm biased and utterly ignorant since I haven't seen any other DO campuses. But I love AZCOM's campus. It's very west coast. The buildings are contemporary steel, glass and brick. The lawns are manicured with palm trees and cactuses. We have nice basketball courts and a sand volleyball court. Arrowhead is a wealthy retirement community so the surrounding neighborhood is pretty nice. Our school has it's pros and cons like every DO school but I have never heard anyone cite our campus as being a negative feature of the school.

It's hard to rank them, because they're all so different. NSUCOM was great, but I went right after the hurricane, so it was hard to judge because everything was a mess. UNECOM was beautiful, but small, and NYCOM was also a great campus, very "woodsy." LECOM was the only one that wasn't very aesthetically pleasing. It didn't have a campus at all, just a building and a parking lot, but they had some interesting stuff to look at inside.

I have seen the brochure of UNECOM and it looks absolutely breath taking resting in front of the ocean. It looked absolutely unreal! Major props there!

I have also heard NOVA's campus is fantastic!

OUCOM. The cambus and the surrounding beauty of southeastern Ohio is just stunning even in the snow.

UNECOM all the way...
Especially in the winter after an ice storm.

You know I prefer a warm and sunny climate but I must say some of these cold weather campuses like OUCOM and UNECOM have some beautiful campuses. I'm really beginning to appreciate the natural beauty of some of these other campuses. It's true, all these campuses are so different yet have something great to offer. You really can't rank these campuses because beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Okay sorry for that Hallmark moment. 🙂

1)unecom
2)oucom
3)vcom
4)azcom
5)wsvom

I did a search on google:

Here are some pics from NSUCOM: enjoy 🙂

AZCOM is pretty cool if your down with the southwest look and the buildings/facilities are pretty nice inside and out.

TUCOM-CA's Mare Island is far from breathtaking, but I liked the historical builidings on the campus. And the insides of the building have been gutted out and revamped. The campus itself has a pretty nice northern CA feel

LECOM-Erie's one building campus is a pretty nice facility. With the weather there in the winter, I wouldn't want to go from building to building! I liked the small town atmosphere that Erie presented.

LECOM-Bradenton's single facility was very nice. Absolutely stunning library, with exception of not having a great deal of books. Watch out for visiting gators in their man-made pond on the backside of the building! It's pretty sweet!

I'll be at CCOM on Tuesday and from what I have seen from pictures, it seems to be very nice as well. It's a big campus nestled in a cozy wooded area. Sounds good to me!

Nova is ridiculous... Palm trees, lakes, and an undergrad in the same setting while in Southern Florida can't be bad. 😉
just saw your signature  ...hope i wasnt a bad influence :scared: ...u just have to be very careful about it

I like the woodsy feel of NYCOM.

UNECOM is on the water but I can't say the actual campus itself is beautiful. about a 5 min walk to the water. I wonder if the students even hang out there or do they go to a nicer beach nearby.

UMDNJ does not have much landscaping going on.

MSU is a really nice campus, although I've heard that COM is in a sorta crappy building.

VCOM, it is high tech campus and nice area.

Yeah, NSU sure is pretty. I think NSU should win the award of prettiest campus except for the funky little road to the parking garage and all that traffic, WTH is up with that? UNE was also very nice (in the fall when I visited at least). Is it strange coincidence that two campuses with both medical schools and undergrad sharing buildings are the prettiest? UMDNJ has beautiful buildings but there is a lot of parking on every side because of the hospital, campus, and doctor's pavilion so it gets a negative for the typical NJ/NY style paved wonderland.

i saw nova's campus once... its freakin beautiful.... but then again its the only do school i've seen.

Michigan State has an awesome campus. But, where the medical schools are, the architecture is more like that 60's stuff (kind of bland).

Nevertheless, MSU's campus in general is really nice. It's huge.

Its only 5 mins from the water if you walk very very slow...

I agree with the UNECOM votes, the surrounding area looks great in the summer especially! Not to mention its right by the water.
