A friend of mine recently "warned" me that most people in medical school use adderal or other like drugs to study in medical school. I told her that it is preposterous to think that greater than 50% of medical school students are using prescription drugs to study. Anyone care to comment on the prevalence of this practice?

The plural of anecdote is not data.

I am not aware of studies with medical students done on this.

also, from what i gather med school classes are not so ultra crazy difficult intense mad that the majority needs to resort to drugging.

i read that if you snort ritalin, it's a lot like coke

Hypothetically speaking, what would your reaction be if what your "friend" said is true?

I dunno about Adderall, but I've heard of people using EPO. Gotta get that 'crit up to 60% to maximize your potential.

Dude, why not just refer the Op to the original thread on this topic instead of starting this all over again.

OP, there is a lengthy thread on this topic. Hold on, I will try and find it.

Source please.

Refer to bleargh's avatar for my reaction.

I don't have the full texts to bring up right now, but a quick google search actually yielded scholarly articles:

This one has the abstract accessible.

there are several linked related articles in the sidebar.

Because this discussion didn't have anything to do with cheating, that's why. I was more or less probing for a reaction on how the OP would deal with living in a system that's inherently unfair.

While I appreciate you going through the trouble, most of the articles linked in the sidebar are pretty old. That, and they were either abstracts or didn't focus specifically on drugs such as Adderall.

every time some half wit wants to start a controversial thread this topic is introduced
