So I've been contemplating a few things as I keep spending money,
Im dreading the huge debt im going to voluntarily take on by choosing to become a dentist and so there is this d.reception course thats 3 grand, 5 months long. Here u can make 16 bucks an hour and im so tempted to apply. Do you think it would be wise to do this and work part time as a dental receptionist during undergrad and maybe some of dental school?
Im just really not enjoying the 8.5 wage and 7 for babysitting. plus im finding it pretty hard to get a dentist to shadow......
8.5 x 10hrs a week = 170 per pay cheque
16 x 10 hrs a week = 320 per pay cheque
Might be nice to make an extra 7800 a year....

saving money is always nice to minimize the amount of loans you will take.

i highly doubt you will have time in dental school to work a part time job?

3,000 dollars for a 5 month course to be a receptionist?!?!
That kinda sounds like a ripoff and a waste of time to me. You can get a receptionist job that will train you for free (and pay you).

Not sure the 3k, 5 month long sounds like a great deal... unless you just want SOME money.

I really don't think you'll have the time to work during dental school... really.
You can always rob a bank, I dream of it everyday 😉

Where do you live? You should easily be able to find a job that pays better than $8.50/hr without investing in a $3000 course.

I'm about 45 min from the pacific ocean down here in BC. It's pretty lovely. Anyways. I dont want a manual labour job.. or construction which is pretty big haha..
McD's pays 8.15 Timmy Ho pays 8-9 greenhouse pays like 9, most stores give like 9 too, and restaurants are like 8-14 depends which one.
This isn't Alberta, despite what people think. u dont get 18 bucks to work at McDonalds haha.
How would you go about getting to be a receptionist without being trained. Most adds say stuff like "new grads welcome" "experienced receptionist required F/T" or other things along those lines. Same for CDA's. most want the orthodontic module too..

I have made great money in undergrad waitressing and bartending. You can make a minimum of $100 per shift and easily as much as $300+ on a good night. I realize this doesnt get you into a dental office, but its great cash for a few hours of work
