Hi
I am a second time applicant. I just recently retook my mcats and im waiting for the scores on July 15th. I wrote a personal statement long time back and a physician and friend liked it. But then I showed it to another friend who got tons of interviews last cycle and he asked me to modify (pretty much rewrote it). So i havent yet submitted my primaries. Am I at a disadvantage? (late applicant?)

Is there any statistical difference whatsoever between having secondaries complete 7/16 (as soon as MCAT scores are available) versus 8/18 (presuming you finish the primary today, and aamcas takes the full estimated 6 weeks to review as indicated on the web site)

Probably yes, at least at one school of the ones you're looking at, it would be more positive to have your secondary completed sooner.

Is your app dead in the water due to timing? No way, lots of applicants turn in secondaries closer to the deadlines and are accepted. From what I've heard, the kiss of death would be turning in an app right around the deadline, you're totally safe if 3-4 months prior to the deadline, at least for the dec/jan deadline schools.

Should you complete the primary ASAP and turn it in, making sure that all transcripts are ordered ASAP too if this is not already done? Heck yes there's no advantage to waiting any longer!

Why are you asking this question?
Stop wasting time and get your application submitted.
The sooner the better.

BTW - I'd say you are not at any disadvantage yet, but get it in ASAP.
