I'll be going to Africa from late May-early June to end of June.

Will being verified for the primary application be a problem for this?

The applicant really has nothing to do with the verification process as long as you are able to submit the required information. AMCAS itself can be handled from the internet. Besides the primary application, the next most important thing is probably having your transcripts sent and received; this may be difficult to do from abroad. Another future consideration would be being able to distribute your LOR's.

How soon can I send my transcript to AMCAS?

Also, I will be back by July, so I don't really imagine secondaries being too big of an issue, right?

You can submit your transcripts by the time you leave (late May), maybe even a bit before that..I believe.

All information and dates will be on the AMCAS website shortly. You can look in the school specific forums to start working on your secondaries before/during your trip.
