Anyone have any thoughts about the LECOM PCSP? I just got accepted into this pathway and am really excited about it since I want to go into family medicine. I've heard a lot of people talk negatively about it and am trying to figure out whether or not I should commit to this program.

If you are 100% sure about primary care it seems to be a good idea. However, it would be a shame if you got into rotations and discovered you were more passionate about another field. Also with 6 interviews you never know if one of the other schools you have or will interview at is a better fit for you.

I think it's good to keep your residency options open. I went to osteopathic medical school thinking primary care, but ended up in anesthesia. People change their mind. I don't know anything specific about the program, however.

I have written a lot about PCSP in the past and I'm happy to help. I don't check in here all the time, though. If you don't get a response from me promptly, don't be afraid to ask again. Sometimes, I just lose track of things...

Meantime, here is a thread I started some time ago. It has a lot of general info. If it doesn't answer what you want to know, hit me up.
