Has anyone taken one of these courses?
I was wondering if someone could give me an opinion.
Do they work?
Which one is better?
Would it be better to study on my own?

I would appreciate any comments.

I didnt take any of the courses, but I bought the Princeton DAT course materials and studied myself. I also had the Kaplan online stuff from a friend. I think both are pretty good.

The Princeton workbook, which reviews the sciences, are much better than the Kaplan stuff. The Princeton DAT review books are very similar to their MCAT books, but they added some topics such as ecology, plant, and animal stuff which are covered on the DAT. However, I thought the Kaplan practice tests were better.

I wouldnt take any of the courses, rather I would just buy the books and study on my own. The Princeton DAT books can be bought directly from Princeton for 400 or 500 I believe.

If you have anymore questions, let me know. I am also selling my Princeton stuff if you are interested.

I have no idea about princeton review.

I have taken Kaplan. I wouldn't recommend the in-class course, but the online course was pretty good. The subject tests and online practice tests were worth the cost.

If the cost of Kaplan scares you off, you can easily study on your own, as long as you are disciplined. Look at the ADA list of recommended texts. The material on the DAT might be very similar to the material you will see in these texts. 😉 DAT Destroyer is another good study aid and DAT Achiever provides a good set of practice tests.

Good luck.

To my understanding Princeton no longer offers a DAT course.

So, Kaplan.
