During next few months l'll be spending quite some time in the ICU, as a House Officer (junior resident). So my quiestion would be, after l have read ICU Book and Manual of Critical Care, is it worth to buy this book as one big ICU material?
Any other recommendations? Irwin?

You're talking about reading several hundred pages between the ICU Book and Manual. You'd probably get more bang for your buck either re-reading the first two books, or poring over a critical care website before buying another, larger text. They seem to have a number of good resources available online, which are probably more up to date than a textbook.

Sounds like its time to start reading Journal Articles, I would start reading and rereading the major research that has been conducted on the ICU population.
