Overwhelmed by secondaries, I thought someone may have some suggestions,
Do medical schools know where else you have been accepted?
Say I am applying to 10 schools, and I get in at my back-up school on my list (but a school, nonetheless), then if med. schools know I am already in, then maybe my more top schools won't be (assuming I am, hopefully, qualified) interested in interviewing me/accepting me? (Then I'll wait on some of the more back-up secondaries for now?)

Thanks in advance

The AAMC maintains a Master Acceptance List. When you are accepted at a school they have to let the AAMC know. I don't know about pre May 15th, but I do know (from experience), after May 15th, medical schools do know where you've been accepted. I received my second acceptance after the May 15th deadline and within a couple days I received a letter from the other school stating essentially, "You've been accepted to X medical school, please send us a letter of intent to matriculate to our school or withdraw your application." My instinct is that medical schools know even before May 15th where else you've been accepted. Whether that has an affect on their decision is anyone's guess.

For most of the year, I don't think they know. It behooves you to get all of your secondaries in early. Some of your safeties may fill their classes more quickly than you would expect.
