My dept. gives residents old prite questions with answers but no explanations to correct or incorrect responces. Does anyone know of a website that provides this service, similiar to USMLE world or Kaplan qbank.

thanks

There is none as far as I know, and I've looked into it.

I tried to get my program divy up the questions per resident--giving each resident about 20 questions where they answered it in Kaplan style, and keep it an ongoing tradition, so within a few years, the program would have every PRITE question answered well, and have a good library.

The result was pretty mixed, and an operational logistics nightmare. Some residents gave some very lame answers to the questions--on the order of 1 sentence and it wasn't even a valid explanation. One resident kept complaining to the program director that it wasn't fair, though was telling me to my face that it was a great idea. I had my reasons to believe it was more than 1, but knew of 1 for a fact. My program was split between 2 locations, and the chief at the other location wasn't involving herself into assisting with that process. For that reason and a few others, I couldn't tell how much of the residents complaints (at the other location) were valid against the idea, and how much of it was just people being immature & wanting a piece of the answers without doing their fair share of the work. A few residents did a great job, but they were in the minority.

The residents in the end voted to not keep the idea going, and if a resident didn't do the work to create no penalty against that resident. I was willing to fully abide by their wishes because it really rested on them to do the work.

Hey, I have a few hundred quizzes made entirely of old PRITE questions (site link below in signature url).

A few people have thrown mini-fits that I've infringed on ACP's copyright. As far as I'm concerned, it's Fair Use. For starters, the answer explanations are mine entirely, as is the online quiz format, etc. More importantly, I don't make a dime off it -- it's entirely non-commercial. The laughable Google Adsense revenue I earn barely pays for site upkeep.

Anywho...I created these quizzes and put them online because no one -- anywhere on the web -- seemed to offer it.

GREAT!
How can we make it more collaborative by
- providing a way for people to provide citations for the answers
- allowing people to "update" questions by providing citations from more recent texts
- encouraging people to write new questions with citation answers

(What a surprise. It's after 10pm and I've suggested another collaborative over-reaching group project. At least I'm consistent.
I need to start drinking earlier.)

One could some "wiki" it?
