PRITE Help(!)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i am starting residency in july.Could anyone please tell me if :
1]do we have to give prite in the first year itself

2] is the prite same for all 4 years

many thanks

If u r getting good eval for u'r rotations, u r supposed to make good grades on PRITE. As you advance in u'r residency u'll make better scores simply because u'r knowledge base will improve(particularly specialty rotations-child/gero/CNL/psychotx). So don't worry-just focus on the training on a day-to-day basis and next year u'll shine. That said, u'll need to go thru neuro section separately(kauffman may be a good choice).
Also for the other post-every psych resident will take PRITE and u'll be graded according to u'r level of training.
Hope this helps.🙂

Hi:

Thanks for the above feedback. I was told that the MGH review was good to help improve scores. I am doing well on rotatations - just need to bring my knowledge base up i guess. Any other ideas for supplemental texts? Have others found MGH helpful?

thanks.

Hi
MGH Update is OK for review, but it's not a textbook(also there are some conflicting data)-so I would recommend using a standard text for general reading and using specialized texts for more focused learning e.g. Arana/rosenbaum for psychopharm, gabbard for psychodynamic tx.
Hope this helps.
