Is/has anyone takien out Private/Alternative loans? I will be starting d.school soon and know for sure that I will need to borrow above the school determined budget. What are the negative aspects of these loans? Are there lenders with better terms (fees, repayment, etc.)? Should/can I begin the loan application(s) now? If not now, when? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks,
SE

if you need more money talk to the financial advisor. Normally he or she can secure more money for you. If they are too strict and wont/cant give you the money they will at least point you in the right direction.

Escarsega, you need to contact Gloria Teegardin in the Financial Aid office about that. However, I was wondering what made you think you will go over budget? I haven't heard of many people taking out private loans in the first 2 years in SA so I would tell you that (unless you have some extraordinary circumstance) the amount they give us is enough to live on.
