Ok I went through the search threads but I still feel like asking- Once I take out a private student loan for post-bacc I have to repay 6 months after I finish the post-bacc, then if I get into medical school I can defer the payments until later on?

Any advice on some of the good ones these days? Sallie Mae, Chase, Citibank? I hope I don't get stuck with a bad interest rate

I believe this to be true, yes. I am on private + federal loans for my undergrad currently (not post-bac.) The private loans start repayment 6mo after school, but can be deferred if I am doing a graduate program or in residency. This should be the same all across the board with private loans.
Remember- they WANT to loan you money. That's how they profit. If possible, get a cosigner. I use Sallie Mae and have had no problems.

I have heard bad things about Citi but don't know from personal experience.

There are limits to what loans you can get, because most post-baccs are considered undergraduate non-degree programs. It also seems like the amount of federal aid you're eligible for can vary from school to school...

I'm going to have to take out big private loans for my post-bacc, and I'm really worried too. If anybody else has any advice, it'd be much appreciated!

I'm doing an unofficial post-bacc...

BU seems to only offer me ~6k/semester in federal loans while my cost of tuition is 10k/semester. FML

I'm trying to work on THIS problem.

Don't go with sallie mae or citibank. heh

Citibank is ruthless.

so are salliemae, but SM is more organized in their database and don't harass you after you apply for a deferment.
