There was a recent thread on this topic but it didn't go anywhere. I know there are hundreds of companies out there selling this stuff but anyone with current knowledge or experience with good, proven private practice EMRs?

I have seen tons of these as well.

I would love to have one that is effective.

I have used Soarian, EPIC and CPRS and liked CPRS the best because it was simple and easy to use. However, these are big hospital type systems.

I want a layout similar to CPRS. Simple but with access to labs, orders, medications, imaging etc etc.
And I don't want to pay a lot. I know thats a lot to ask but who knows, maybe there is something out there.

I haven't used CPRS in over 5 years, so it may have improved a bit, but it was pretty good in its day.

I use EPIC every day--which at times puts new meaning into the term "Epic Fail"--it was obviously designed by database-oriented software engineers, not clinicians. But I have no choice, so it's grin & bear it.
