What do you mean by tougher? Tougher to get into or tougher to study? Not sure about study, but it's a known fact that it's harder to get into public schools, the reason being they are much cheaper. It's that simple.

yes, i mean tougher to study for. i heard from someone that public schools are tougher in general because of the class sizes and that the professors just don't try as hard to teach at public. any info would be appreciated...

Don't know really - how can you know unless you've done them both???

I went to a public CA pharmacy school & Zpack went to a private CA pharmacy school - both well regarded. I think we both can hold our own clinically....as to how hard we studied...well....I know how I partied, but Zpack is a few years younger than me......

This is only one aspect of what makes up your decision. Your studying won't end with school - that is the hardest studying of all because no one makes you do it except yourself!

I know you were asking about the study, but I just wanted to add in that it's also harder to get into public schools because many of them give preference to in-state applicants (Idaho State and Washington State just to name a few) and some have higher standards for out-of-state applicants (Purdue: 3.5min average).
