Ten pieces of paper numbered consecutively from 1 to 10 are put into a hat. If three pieces of paper are drawn at random from the hat one at a time without being returned to the hat, what is the probability that all three will be even numbers?

I'm not usually good with these, but think i can do this one....

ten numbers in the hat with 5 of them being even....so the chance of you picking an even number the first time would be 5/10...

now we have 9 numbers in the hat b/c we're not returning that number we just pull.... we assume that we pulled an even number out b/c we need to pull 3 consecutive even numbers..

2nd pull... the chance of pulling an even number would be 4/9
3rd pull ....3/8

you multiply those 3 numbers 5/10 * 4/9 * 3/8= 1/8 Is that right?

He/she multiplies 5/10 * 4/9 * 3/8 correctly I'd imagine 🙂.

Oh yea . I don't know how that guy got to 1/8. You can get the answer by 5/10 * 4/9 * 3/8 = 1/12
