Anyone use Problem-Based Microbiology by Nath for either boards or courses?

It sounds good and has gotten great reviews on Amazon. Never heard of it before today, when Amazon recommended it to me.

I got this book from our library. It looks like an OK review book provided you have some understanding(which we all have). I do not think it is any better than FA micro section. It is a good refresher- e.g. give a clinical scenario and go thru the description of bugs, tests, pathology etc.
I am sticking with FA and CMMRS and using this for reference only. It does have a good appendix in the back.

Dr. Nath is my microbiology professor. His book is good for a quick review. We use it in our PBL based curriculum, but if you like being able to do a systems based approach to infections then this book would be a good way to do it. Since it goes case by case it only takes a few minutes to read a case, so u aren't sitting there for hours reading all the gram negative bugs, etc. Also has all the pharm used for each bug in it as well. Check it out

I've gone through Nath's book in my second year. I wouldn't recommend it over FA or CMMRS, but it could serve as a supplement if you have the kind of time to add a 500-page book to the load. It doesn't cover nearly as many microorganisms as the other two, settling instead for most common and covering them in-depth. It presents each in the context of a patient, from presentation to PE, DDx, and testing, to discussion of epidemiology and characteristics of the organism. About 90 cases x 3-5 pages each.
