anyone else having trouble requesting exception to policy to get out oblc this year? i'm a MSII and for some reason the website still says i have a request in (from last year) even though that was already approved a long time ago.

still waiting to hear back from someone at the OTSG...

Some in the office can be a little slow. Are you requesting delay or are you prior-service with OBC already? If you do not have orders or a slot for OBLC, then they have approved it, just haven't updated MODS. If your school calender does not allow enough time for OBLC, then the Army will not require you to go until finished. The HPSP policy is pretty well set in stone not to interfere with completing the degree.

If you get orders they can be revoked easily, even at the last minute. I've had orders amedned and revoked even on travel day.

nope, i haven't gone to obc yet and have a calendar conflict. it is some comfort knowing they will revoke ADT orders so late but i'd rather get this done on time and NOT have to deal with the ugly bureaucracy of the army (again).

Polite insistence will get it done. Send an email once or twice a month, then once a week when you are closer. Bureaucrats want things easy. You need an exception and are no longer easy. So help them make it easy by offering a calender from the school and remind them of their own regulations that finishing school on time is first priority. They do not worry about OBLC usually until April or May at the earliest.

I found the senior people in the office to be very helpful. If down to the end and having problems, send me a PM and perhaps I can help.
